31 Mar March mayham with Ken Stringfellow (R.E.M. / The Posies) & Icelandic visitors, Nýdönsk.
As March draws to an end, it has definitely been a month full of fantastic moments and unforgettable experiences. It was with great pleasure that we aided “Ken Stringfellow” (R.E.M./The Posies) in producing several songs for a new artist… and as if that wasn’t enough, we also had an absolute ball working on the new EP for our first ever Icelandic guests, “Nýdönsk”.

28 Feb Carla Bozulich – Boy
Due for release in March this year is the long awaited, full length album from “Carla Bozulich” – “Boy”.
Known as the founder of both “The Geraldine Fibbers” and “Evangelista” as well as being a founding member of “Ethyl Meatplow”, Carla is an incredible artist who has delivered one of the most intimite records we have had the pleasure of being a part of yet.
In her own words… “to me, this album, Boy, sounds like sleeping through the sound of every kind of metal and whispers and running feet and all the bad and good PAs combined—sometimes all at the same moment, and then sucked into a psychic hole and spit out the other side, transparent as a flea in a frog’s eye.”
We look forward to seeing Carla on her next berlin visit. Check out her official website for tour dates and of course, to get your copy of the album:
12 Dec Something for the kids! “The Benja Men – Goodbye, Smile Mile”
Tricone is extremely proud to have recently played a role in the making of the children’s album, “Goodbye Smile Mile”.
“Ben Arntz grew up in cities and suburbs in the American South-, Mid-, and Northwest. He began playing the piano as a little kid and took up guitar in his mid-teens. After moving to Berlin in 2007, he spent six years teaching English and cacophonous, somewhat atonal music to German kindergarten kids. After noticing a great number of children struggling with the emotional ups-and-downs of moving, he wrote the story and songs for “Goodbye, Smile Mile” with the hope that it would eventually become something kids and adults could enjoy together. Later, he doubled everyone’s workload by deciding it would serve a wider audience if it were in both English and German! After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Ben fired up the bat-signal, which attracted an extremely enthusiastic and international team of producers, musicians, arrangers, artists, photographers, translators, and multi-talents. Everyone involved put in an insane amount of time and effort to make the album. Ben thinks it’s wonderful, and he hopes you will too!”
With an impressive count of 16689 Soundcloud plays in under a month, the latest single from Australian born and Berlin based artist PHIA is certainly attracting attention. The song “Do You Ever” was recently mixed at Tricone Studios by Jonny Diamonds with producer Joshua Teicher.
Here’s what the press are saying:
“…on the basis of what I hear from [Phia's] Soundcloud page, she could well be one of the stars from 2014. Let’s make it happen.” – 17 Seconds “Take a listen to “Do You Ever?” and get ready to have a smile on your face for the rest of the day.” – Irrational Confidence “…a bouncy, explosive song about teenage love and “kissing in-between class,” laden with the sorts of jerky beats and lush vocals that are bound to make it a hit.” – Indie Shuffle “…hypnotic, joyful, definitely-danceable.” – MatchMusik

23 Feb From Sweden to California + Rejana Woock – Somnia
There was certainly a lot of action at Tricone Studios over the past few months… here’s a quick update:
We are proud to announce the release of “Somnia”, the debut album from the extremely talented vocalist, Rejana Woock. The album is an amazing collage of vocal parts and dominantly accapella with only a minimal inclusion of instruments such as violin, guitar and piano. With a focus on the voice creating the foundations of the songs, this is definitely one of the most unique and fascinating projects we have had to date. Find out more about this amazing artist at Rejana’s official website:www.rejana-music.de
Team Awesome have also released their debut album “To the Kings of Rock” and celebrated the occasion in fine form with the offical CD release Party at Berlin’s Slaughterhouse. With a great performance and a load of new songs, the “Team” is certainly developing itself into something “Awesome” and we look forward to working with them again soon.
We have also had some great sessions in the studio working on the new album for Carla Bozulich. It was a pleasure for all of us at Tricone to be a part of this recording as Carla and her musicians laid down some indredible tracks. We will surely be posting more information about this record in the near future!
Swedish Singer Songwriter David Josephson has also been recording with us over the past few months, local boys House of Porter were also here to record their new album and Soma Docks were in last week for a live recording and video shoot.
27 Jan Live sessions with “Sofi de la Torre”
Sofi de la Torre spent some time with us last December to record and film a live performance, the footage from which has now been released with her single “Heartbeat”. Be sure to check her out at her official website: http://sofidelatorre.com/
