31 Mar March mayham with Ken Stringfellow (R.E.M. / The Posies) & Icelandic visitors, Nýdönsk.
As March draws to an end, it has definitely been a month full of fantastic moments and unforgettable experiences. It was with great pleasure that we aided “Ken Stringfellow” (R.E.M./The Posies) in producing several songs for a new artist… and as if that wasn’t enough, we also had an absolute ball working on the new EP for our first ever Icelandic guests, “Nýdönsk”.

(Left) Lunchbreak: As they head out to try the local schnitzel, Icelandic band “Nýdönsk” leave their mark by way of flying the band’s flag neatly at the back of the studio control room.
28 Feb Carla Bozulich – Boy
Due for release in March this year is the long awaited, full length album from “Carla Bozulich” – “Boy”.
Known as the founder of both “The Geraldine Fibbers” and “Evangelista” as well as being a founding member of “Ethyl Meatplow”, Carla is an incredible artist who has delivered one of the most intimite records we have had the pleasure of being a part of yet.
In her own words… “to me, this album, Boy, sounds like sleeping through the sound of every kind of metal and whispers and running feet and all the bad and good PAs combined—sometimes all at the same moment, and then sucked into a psychic hole and spit out the other side, transparent as a flea in a frog’s eye.”
We look forward to seeing Carla on her next berlin visit. Check out her official website for tour dates and of course, to get your copy of the album:
12 Dec Something for the kids! “The Benja Men – Goodbye, Smile Mile”
Tricone is extremely proud to have recently played a role in the making of the children’s album, “Goodbye Smile Mile”.
“Ben Arntz grew up in cities and suburbs in the American South-, Mid-, and Northwest. He began playing the piano as a little kid and took up guitar in his mid-teens. After moving to Berlin in 2007, he spent six years teaching English and cacophonous, somewhat atonal music to German kindergarten kids. After noticing a great number of children struggling with the emotional ups-and-downs of moving, he wrote the story and songs for “Goodbye, Smile Mile” with the hope that it would eventually become something kids and adults could enjoy together. Later, he doubled everyone’s workload by deciding it would serve a wider audience if it were in both English and German! After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Ben fired up the bat-signal, which attracted an extremely enthusiastic and international team of producers, musicians, arrangers, artists, photographers, translators, and multi-talents. Everyone involved put in an insane amount of time and effort to make the album. Ben thinks it’s wonderful, and he hopes you will too!”
